LIGATURE PRESS
EST 2026 EU · PRINTED ON HAHNEMÜHLE

01 THE PROPOSITION

Algorithmic posters for two names.

You type two names — and, if you want, an occasion or date. An algorithm composes one Bauhaus print, like a museum poster: the shapes are drawn from your names and fixed. You choose only the colourway and type it offers — nothing else to edit. Printed on Hahnemühle 308 gsm cotton rag.

FROM €70 · A4 PHOTO RAG · typically 5–10 business days · free reprint if damaged

03 HOW IT WORKS

Type. See. Buy. That is the whole shop.

  1. 01

    TYPE

    Two names. Yours, or the names of the couple you're giving this to. Anniversary. Wedding. Memorial. Just because.

  2. 02

    SEE

    An art-direction agent reads the phonetic structure and composes one arrangement of shapes — fixed, from your names. Then you pick a colourway and type from the few it offers. 30–90 seconds. Composed once, then cached.

  3. 03

    BUY

    Pick paper, size, format. Pay with card, Vipps, iDEAL, SEPA. We print on Hahnemühle cotton rag, number the edition, ship from EU, and replace it free if it arrives damaged.

04 THE METHOD

Letter-Shape Synthesis.

No diffusion model touches the artwork. A Claude Opus model — given a strict schema, a Bauhaus aesthetic brief, and your two names — emits a structured composition spec. A deterministic vector renderer turns that spec into the print. The spec is the artwork.

The same two names always compose the same shapes. You choose the colourway and type; that choice is recorded in the spec, which ships as the print's certificate of authenticity — so your poster is reproducible exactly, at any time, from the spec alone.

// what the algorithm sees
input  = ("Anna", "Bjørn")

// what it composes from the names — fixed
shapes = {
  canvas    : "1:1.414",
  primitives: [ 7 geometric forms ],
  layout    : "split-bottom",
  mood      : "nordic dusk",
}

// the one thing you choose: a curated treatment
treatment = pick(["Bone", "Frost", "Crimson", "Forest", "Plum"])

// what gets printed
poster = render(shapes, treatment)
sha    = hash(input + shapes + treatment)   // recorded

05 MATERIALS

Two papers, one mill — est. 1584.

Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm

100% cotton, matte, acid- and lignin-free. The default paper for A4 and A3. Fine-art galleries print on this. So do we.

  • A4 · 210×297 mm · €70
  • A3 · 297×420 mm · €120

Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm

Heavier, mould-made, slight tooth. The wall-piece paper — reserved for A2 and A1. Pairs with the dense, plosive name pairs the engine reaches for at scale.

  • A2 · 420×594 mm · €200
  • A1 · 594×841 mm · €340

Made in EU

Printed in the EU — the Netherlands (Prodigi). Shipped white-label — no Ligature Press branding on the package. Typically 5–10 business days door-to-door across the EU.

Free reprint if damaged in transit.
No return shipping.

Matte cotton rag holds colour the way a gallery wall does — soft, deep, unlit. Screen-bright tones settle a shade quieter on paper; the fine-art register, not a fault. Your print preview is shown on the paper you choose.

07 EDITIONS

Numbered. In order. From 0001.

Every print bears a sequential edition number — № NNNN — assigned the moment the payment clears. The number is drawn on the print itself and on the COA. We never run a backwards numbering scheme to make a print feel rarer than it is, and there's no premium tier — the first print and the thousandth are the same product at the same price.

Type two names.
